Part of learning a language is also training your listening skills and these lessons are exactly for that. This not only trains your listening skills but also gives you an understanding about the sentence structure and speaking habits of the Thai language. In the Thai language, each vowel is pronounced with either a short or a long duration which alters the meaning of words! This is very much unlike English in which the meaning of words remains the same no matter how long you pronounce a vowel sound. Most Thai vowels can not stand alone and are either placed before, after, below or above consonants. Complex vowels consist of several parts and can be placed around the consonants.
