Thai Alphabet Mnemonics
The first step to learn to read and write Thai is mastering the Thai alphabet. The LTP reading and writing course makes learning the Thai alphabet really easy. We offer mnemonics which are basically memory aids that will help you to remember the sound, class and shape of each letter.
The example on the left shows the Thai letter "khaw khon". By remembering the picture of a couple kissing eachother at the beach you remember the...
- Shape - because the letter shape looks similar to silhouettes of a couple kissing.
- Sound - because the sound is "K" like "k" in kissing.
- Class - the couple is kissing eachother on the beach, the beach stands for a low class.
Along with the illustrations you can hear the sound, see an animation how it is written, see examples of words that use this letter and different ways of writting the letter.
